Diving in calm water

Katja Schlegel offers these Pool rings in a wide variety of color options. Whether transparent, translucent, or opaque, there’s something for everyone.

Architecture is the German artist’s primary source of inspiration, though music, theater, film, and art also fuel her creativity. She juxtaposes colors, textures, and dimensions, working directly with her materials rather than creating preliminary sketches.

Based in Munich, where she opened her gallery, Katja transports us into her vibrant world. Her style is characterized by clean, architectural forms, often dominated by circles and ovals.

In her Pool ring series, shapes and colors come together in large, solid blocks, evoking a dip in calm water—a moment of tranquility.

Originally from Frankfurt am Main, she spent a year as an apprentice with Hendrik Forster Metung and Marion Marshall in Melbourne, Australia. She then returned to Germany and trained as a goldsmith at the State Vocational School for Glass and Jewelry in Neugablonz from 1990 to 1993.

The artist founded her brand, Schlegelschmuck, in 1994, and then opened her gallery in Munich in 2007, where she exhibits her own works as well as those of other artists.

Katja regularly participates in international solo and group exhibitions, and her work is featured in renowned galleries across Europe and the Americas.
